Join us for an evening of powerful poetry with the talented Ukrainian poet Mariia Starozhytska, who is both a director and writer.
She will share her heartfelt work in both Ukrainian and English.
Mariia will read from her collection "Around the War," which reflects on the origins of the conflict a decade ago.
She will also present new poems inspired by her personal experiences of the full-scale invasion and her visions of Kyiv in 2025.
This special event, taking place in Auckland, commemorates Ukraine's Independence Day.
It is dedicated to honouring the memory of Dominic Abelen, Andrew Benshaw, Kane Te Tai, and Shan Le Cairns, New Zealanders who died courageously defending Ukraine.
Discover poems about the war's impact, including the stories of volunteers stepping up to protect Ukraine and Mariia's personal poetic impressions of the invasion.
Following the reading, attendees are invited to enjoy drinks and nibbles while connecting with others.
You can purchase a signed copy of "Around the War" by making a small donation.
We at Creative Ukrainians hope to see you at this memorable evening in Auckland.
